Kate Hosford graduated from Amherst College in 1988 with a degree in English and Philosophy. Before becoming an author, she worked as a social worker, an elementary school teacher, and an illustrator. In 2011, she received her MFA in Writing For Children and Young Adults from Vermont College of Fine Arts.
She presently lives in Brooklyn, New York with her husband and two sons. Her books are Big Bouffant, Big Birthday, Infinity and Me, Feeding the Flying Fanellis and Other Poems from a Circus Chef (fall, 2015), and How the Queen Found the Perfect Cup of Tea.
All of these are published with Carolrhoda books, a division of Lerner Publishing. Her latest book, Mama’s Belly, came out with Abrams in 2018.
